Just a few thoughts.
A while back someone said to me that political music was dead. What a wrong statement! This country is at war. I hate war just for the record. Music on the other hand becomes very charged during war time. Another person said to me that Green Day was soft compared to old school punk...Maybe, maybe not. Listening to current music gives you an idea of how some are thinking about our war and government.
Read these Lyrics:

"American Idiot"

Don't want to be an American idiot.
Don't want a nation under the new media
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mind fuck America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.

Well maybe I'm the faggot America.
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda.
Now everybody do the propaganda.
And sing along to the age of paranoia.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.

Don't want to be an American idiot.
One nation controlled by the media.
Information age of hysteria.
It's calling out to idiot America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.

I could go on but I'll spare you. This is one song of many right now that is making a statement about our country.
Even if you don't like what they have to say...It's a killer workout song!
As for today's workout. I'm hoping my friend Ernesto will be joining me. More later.
