It was a long time coming, then all at once, bam. I had it!- and a fortunate consequence of all that practice trying to conquer the kip was an amazing gain in strength and coordination. In other words, nothing is wasted along the way. I was coached primarily by Dylan at GJ, and dialed in with Mark Twight- so even though my instructors are clearly top-notch, my own body sort of betrayed me for a while there. A physical disobedience, or sorts. Nonetheless, I've nailed it, and damn it feels good. One peice of advice, in case you're still working on it. PUSH AWAY from the bar on the downswing. When your coming down off the bar, push your body out and away from the bar as soon as possible after completing the form. This neutralizes the swing caused by the down-portion of the movement, helping you to get back to the even hang, where you then load the spring and snap into the kip. Hope this helps. I'm not a blogger, but if you want any more hints on this, email me at missmarti@hotmail.com. Best of luck, great blog, keep it up, there is no 'core'- THE BODY IS ONE PEICE, cheers, and all that other stuff!Marti Denkershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11001246896309679630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31622722.post-1162857980365143612006-11-06T16:06:00.000-08:002006-11-06T16:06:00.000-08:00Yeah putting a time on it adds to the challange.
